Frequently Asked Questions About Playing for Heat
How do you join a Heat team?
Delta Heat runs teams in all minor age groups from Squirt to Midget. Heat teams compete at the "A" rep level which means that you must tryout and be accepted to play on a Heat team. Tryouts for Heat teams are generally in September for the teams competing the following Spring. This allows teams to plan and train in the winter to prepare for the Spring/Summer season.
I made a Heat team! How do I register?
That is a lot easier than making the team. You have a choice of registering with one of the three home associations that Heat is affiliated with. Ladner, North Delta and Tsawwassen all have registration processes that you can go through to register for Heat. To get registration forms, click here.
What kind of commitment does it take to play Heat?
Generally, Heat teams work together from about November through to July. The winter months are reserved for pitchers and catchers, team workouts, strength and conditioning, and hitting. Outdoor practices generally get underway in March with the season opening up in April. Throughout the winter, you can expect to be working out up to twice per week with your Heat team. Throughout the summer, you can expect a minimum of four sessions (games and practices) per week plus any weekend tournament play that may be required.

Why do I want to play "A" ball?
Good question. "A" level ball is the highest level fastpitch that girls can play in the lower mainland. If you want to compete, learn more skills and have fun doing it, there is no better competition around. "A" level ball players find that they have a lot of opportunity down the road as evidenced by the many Heat players representing our organization at the BC Summer Games, Western Canada Games, Canada Summer Games, with our National team and at colleges and universities around North America. Challenge yourself to play "A" ball.....you won't be disappointed.!
