Delta Heat 96 wins Bronze at the Peewee Provincials and Nationals

Heat 96 captured the Bronze medal in their provincials and matched the same medal at Nationals. Their hard work paid off in Montreal with persistent play to achieve a third place finish.

Four Delta Heat players help Team B.C. to bring home the Gold at the Canada Games in 2009 in P.E.I. From left to right: Paige Collings, Kelsey Bryant, Lindsay McElroy, and Andrea Stevenson. The girls had an amazing experience playing for Team BC in the Canada Games. The final highlight for the team was when Paige hit a home run in the final game ending in a 2-1 victory over Ontario. Congratulations girls!!!

Hard work, dedication and stamina drove the Heat 94 to a 3rd place finish at the Bantam Provincials in Nanaimo this past weekend. Congratulations to this 1st year Bantam team for their strong determination as a group, and their ability to be positive with each new challenge they faced. The team also appreciated the strong fan support that was offered from other teams and parents as they made their way through the playoffs
In 2007 a memorial award was established to remember “Hannah Anderson”, a Delta Heat player who lost her life in a tragic automobile accident in 2006. Hannah’s coaches and teammates wished to honour her memory with a Memorial Award that exemplified the qualities that Hannah was best known for - dedication, hard work, perseverance and team spirit. In 2009 the award was presented to two graduating players from the Delta Heat ‘91 team, Lindsay McElroy and Brittany Meyer, both of whom have played for their Heat team for the past eight years. These two young women exemplify the qualities portrayed by Hannah and what the Delta Heat stands for. Congratulations Lindsay and Brittany!!!
Kasch Park - Everett, Washington

The Heat 93 went 2-1 in the round robin then 2-0 in the playoff round to win the tournament. Strong pitching from Meghan Nicol and Ellen Thoveson and solid team defense - allowing only 4 runs in the 5 games. The offense was led by Michelle Buchanan and Katherine Singh batting .500 and Shayna Taffinder .455. Solid league play in the last few weeks with record of 3-1. Offense led by Shayna Taffinder batting .728, Megan Malenstyn .462 and Hailey Daggitt .390. The team was in Beaverton OR in June and the Canada Cup in Surrey in July.
Heat 95 Brings Home Sterling Plate from Wenatchee, Washington

Success south of the border was enjoyed by the Heat ‘95 which brought home the Sterling Plate award for third place in Wenatchee, Washington. The contingent of players from North Delta, Tsawwassen and Ladner overcame high temperatures and showed outstanding individual performances during seven games to capture the award.
The Delta Heat 92 team brought home Silver this past weekend in the "Strike Out Breast Cancer" U18 Tournament in Mt. Vernon. They were up against girls who were two years older. A big congratulations to the girls and coaches!!!
